The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) held a series of activities to welcome the alumni of 1977 and 1978 grades on April 7th, the day before the 116th anniversary of Xi’an Jiaotong University. The activities comprised three parts: organizing the symposiums for presidents, ageing teachers and partial alumni representatives, taking a photograph for all of the alumni and celebrating a dinner party together.
Following the symposiums, Prof. Zhiwei Shan accompanied with alumni representatives and showed them around the new-established laboratories of the State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Center for Advanced Materials Performance from the Nanoscale (CAMP-Nano) and Hysitron Applied Research Center in China (HARCC). They were shocked by the progressive development and achievements attained by the School of MSE in recent years. Moreover, all of our alumni wished that the School of MSE could make more newer and larger contributions to the future in the realm of materials science and technology.
