Lin Tian, a PhD candidate of CAMP-Nano, was chosen as the recipient of 2012 Gatan China Scholarship. She is the second student of CAMP-Nano who is granted this scholarship. Gatan China Scholarship was established to reward to the young Chinese talents who have shown great potential in the field of electron microscopy by Gatan, Inc., which is the most leading manufacturer of instruments and software used to enhance and extend the operation and performance of electron microscopes in the world.
As a second year PhD candidate of CAMP-Nano, Lin Tian published an article titled as “Approaching the ideal elastic limit of metallic glasses” as the first author in January this year on Nature Communications (Related news, http://www.campnano.org/web/en/news/2012/01/03_218.html). This scholarship will help her excel in the research and scientific career, and also provide more opportunities to interact with scientists and professionals in Gatan and more product training.
