On Oct. 20th, Mr. Toshiyuki Ikeda, Senior Vice President and Executive Officer of Hitachi High-Technologies(HH-T) visited CAMP-Nano, accompanied by Dr. Toshie Yaguchi, Senior Engineer of HH-T, Mr. Fumio Watabe, Sales Manager of HH-T and Mr. Xianghui Jin, Application Engineer of HH-T. The visit propelled greatly the both sides on-going cooperation.
At around 3:00 pm, the guests arrived at CAMP-Nano. Prof. Zhiwei Shan, Director of CAMP-Nano, gave them a cordial welcome and showed them around the lab of CAMP-Nano. And then a short meeting with Professor Guang Xi, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University was held at room 201 in science building. During the meeting, Prof Guang Xi extended the guests a warm welcome and lauded the achievements of the cooperation with HH-T. Then he gave a brief introduction on the Western Science and Technology Innovation Area which has gained the strong supports from the country and the government, and also he placed the hope that HH-T and the University could developed the deeper and more extensive cooperation later on.
After the meeting, a seminar was held attended by the four guests and some faculty of CAMP-Nano. Prof. Shan gave the first report mainly about the running summary of XHRDC, including the simple recalling of its foundation and some outstanding moments, the both sides cooperation fruits, on-going trouble shooting and the suggested instruments innovation. Prof. Shan also displayed to the guests an advanced manage system named Smart Lab which was a successful innovation by CAMPers to make sure the smarter laboratory and instruments management.
Next, Dr. Toshie Yaguchi gave an introduction of HF3300FE-TEM about some important specifications and electron optics characteristics and the standards of next generation Hitachi High-Technologies followed by the report from Mr. Fumio Watabe that focused on the Real-time 3D analytical FIB-SEM NX9000 from three parts which contained conventional column layout V-shape, cut&see for 3D structure analysis and Real time 3D analysis FIB-SEM. After the reports, President Toshiyuki Ikeda proposed two awards toward CAMP-Nano and XJTU: setting up scholarship of JPY500000/year for talented students and establishing scholarship of JPY1500000/year for XJTU to support the collaboration seminar. The meeting lasted two hours and boosted significantly the both sides exchange and cooperation.
Note: As the abbreviation of Xi'an Jiaotong University - Hitachi High- Technologies Research and Development Center, XHRDC which set up in June 2012 was the first cooperative agency with Hitachi in China.
