June 3 marks the final day of the 9th International Workshop on Materials Behavior at the Micro- and Nano- Scale. Today’s symposium lasted to the lunch time. In the afternoon, the guests visited the laboratories of CAMP-Nano.
The morning sessions, hosted by Prof. Jin Zou and Prof. Ju Li, were mainly about microscopic electrochemical studies, in situ mechanical studies and computational simulations. The symposium featured seven talks, namely Prof. Ju Li’s “Electro Chemo Mechanics in Action”, Prof. Erik Bitzek “Twining in Nanowires”, Prof. Feng Liu’s “Taming Microstructure of Nanostructured Alloy”, Prof. Xiangdong Ding’s “Interface Driven Ppseudo-plasticity in Nanowires”, Prof. Jin Zou’s “in situ TEM Study on 1-D Semiconductor Nanostructures”, Prof. Jiangwei Wang “in situ TEM Study and Electrochemical Degradations of Nanostructured Materials”, Mr. Lie Yang’s “Chestnut-like SiO2/C Anode in Li-ion Batteries”. As usual, there were constructive questions and heated discussions.
Following all the sessions, Prof. Zhiwei Shan gave concluding remarks of this year’s Workshop. He thanked all the presenters, as well as the organizers and volunteers. He then mentioned all the sponsors and appreciated their support. He also envisioned that next year’s Workshop would be held in joint with the Ke-xin Guo Electron Microscopy Symposium, making the scale of the meeting even larger.
Additionally, the Best Poster Award and the Hitachi XHRDC Scholarship were given to the winners:
Gold Poster Award: Mingshuai Ding
Silver Poster Award: Yuecun Wang
Bronze Poster Award: Rongrong Zhang
Hitachi Scholarship: Meng Li
