On May, 31st, the nanomechanical test workshop was held in School of Material Science&Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University. This workshop attracted about 70 representatives who came from Tegent Corporation and more than 20 universities.
After Prof. Zhiwei Shan, professor of School of Material Science&Engineering, and Doctor Oden Warren, CTO of Hystron Corporation giving brief opening words, the workshop officially started. In the first session of the workshop, seven lecturers who were from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi’an Jiaotong University gave their reports, respectively, which were based on nanomechanical test devices. These wonderful reports highly appealed to audiences.
In the second session of the workshop, six technical staff and students of Center of the Advancing Material Performance from Nanoscale(CAMP-Nano) and Hystron Applied Research Center in China(HARCC) gave their reports of demonstration experiments about Nano Indenter and Easy-Lab software.
Then, participants visited the facilities of CAMP-Nano, including environmental transmission electron microscope(ETEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), Focused Ion Beam(FIB) and Nano Indenter, and observed the demonstration experiment on the spot. Visitors showed great interests in these nanomechanical test devices and had an enthusiastic discussion with device administrators. The workshop ended at 5 p.m. after the lab visiting.
This workshop reported the progress of international frontier of material science which was made by nanomechanical test devices. Mutual communication and cooperation of participants units were increased, and the expectant effect was achieved through this workshop, as well.
