Professor Brian Gleeson, Harry S. Tack Chair Professor and Chairman of Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, University of Pittsburgh (PITT) visited CAMP-Nano on June 14th.
Prof. Shan gave a cordial reception to Prof. Gleeson. They had an offices and lab tour at CAMP-Nano for about one hour. Prof. Gleeson was introduced with the foundation stories, the development, cooperation and major instruments etc. Then Prof. Gleeson gave a lecture titled by “Materials That Can Withstand High Temperatures”. The presentation highlighted the use and needs of high-temperature materials in the context of improving energy efficiency. Some recent research efforts by his group specific examples were showed and aroused the scene discussion.
