On Nov. 27th, the 2nd Gatan GIF/EELS school was held in CAMP-Nano, XJTU. Technical group from Gatan Inc. came to CAMP-Nano and gave training lessons of Gatan imaging filter (GIF) and Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS). Representatives from Institute of Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Harbin Institute of Technology also took part in this school.
Gatan Inc. is a first-class company in the field of electron microscope accessories and the recognized leader in the industry. Gatan GIF/EELS school was held in the meeting room of MSE and lasted for 3 days. Engineers from Gatan Inc. gave lectures on theoretical knowledge of GIF, EELS and EFTEM in each morning and demonstrated the operation on JEOL JEM2100F in each afternoon.

The Gatan GIF/EELS school was finished on Nov. 29th. Through this school, all the conferees deepened the understanding of GIF/EELS and expressed their need for more communication with each other.
