The 7th international workshop on materials behavior at the micro- and nano-scale will be held on June 23-25, 2014 in Nanyang Hotel, Xi’an. The workshop is organized by Center for Advancing Material Performance from the Nanoscale (CAMP-Nano) and State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of Materials of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
The primary goal of this workshop is to bring together a lineup of well-known scientists, researchers and engineers to review the recent achievements, discuss the current puzzles and share the visions for the future of advancing materials performance from the nanoscale as well as the developments of state-of-the-art instruments that enable such explorations, with an emphasis on nanomechanics and in situ TEM related topics. The contents include, but not limited to, experimental, theoretical and computational studies of traditional materials, bio materials, energy and battery related materials et al.
23 worldwide famous scientists and scholars have accepted invitations and will give presentations during the workshop. The speakers come from both domestic and overseas universities and research institutions, including Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University, Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pittsburgh, Ohio State University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, University of Gottingen, Kyoto University, Shenyang Institute of Metal Research, Tsinghua university, Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation and Hysition Inc. et al. About 120 people will attend the workshop.
Besides, the workshop will begin with full day tutorials on High Resolution TEM, Focused Ion Beam, Nanomechanics and Environmental TEM in the building of School of Materials Science and Engineering on June 21-22, 2014. By cooperating with manufacturers, the tutorials aim at building a platform for learning and communicating.
This workshop will provide a wonderful opportunity to learn the basic knowledge of the proposed topics, communicate with a strong lineup of internationally recognized invited speakers, talk face-to-face with well-established researchers and scientists on their most recent works and be updated on state-of-the-art technologies by leading industry manufacturers.
The preparation of the workshop is undergoing. Stay tuned!
