26 worldwide famous scientists and scholars have accepted invitations and will give presentations during the workshop. The speakers come from both domestic and overseas universities and research institutions, including UC Berkeley, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pittsburgh, Georgia Institute of Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, National Institute for Materials Science (Japan), Queensland University of Technology, Monash University, RWTH Aachen (Gamany), Osaka University, Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation and Hysition Inc. et al. About 120 people will attend the workshop.

 

Prof. Robert Ritchie, Professor of UC Berkeley and Member of the National Academy of Engineering, will gave the plenary report on the workshop. And the honorary professorship conferment ceremony to Prof. Ritchie will be held at 8:40 on June 1st. Then the successive reports will last to the mid-day of June 3rd. The lab tour part will be arranged in the afternoon on the same day as the ending of the workshop. Worthy to be mentioned, the poster session is predicted to be an intense competition among 20 participants at 7pm on June 2nd. Believe that this workshop will lead an interesting and wonderful journey to all the attendees.

 

Besides, the full day tutorial on Nanomechanics will be held in the building of School of Materials Science and Engineering on May 31, 2015. By cooperating with manufacturers, the tutorial aims at building a platform for technical staff’s learning and communicating.
