Professor Zhiwei Shan, Director of CAMP-Nano, was selected in the Project of “Millions of talents”, and a honorary title, Outstanding Contribution Expert, was granted simultaneously.
Accompanied by Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, National Development and Reform Commission, National Natural Science Foundation and China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Personnel of China started the Project of “Millions of talents” which is a national talent training plan in 1995. By selecting and cultivating, the Project of “Millions of talents” aims at creating hundreds of outstanding scientists, engineering technologists and theorists who stand in the frontier of international science and technology, thousands of foregoers of leading level in China, and ten thousands of excellent talents who have significant achievements, play a key role and possess great potential in his field. The selected talents are expected to be less than 50 years old.
Zhiwei Shan is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University. His research focuses on the structure and properties of materials at micro and nano scale, and he has achieved remarkable results. His papers, more than 40, have been published in many important academic journals, such as Science, Nature, Nature Material, Nature Communications, PNAS, Nano Letters, etc. Prof. Shan has organized and co-organized 17 international symposiums, hosted and participated in 8 researches.
