Prof. K. Jimmy Hsia, Vice Provost of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), visited CAMP-Nano and attended a seminar in the afternoon on Nov. 25, 2015.

The seminar was held after the lunch in Room 320 and Prof. Zhiwei Shan, Dr. Zhangjie Wang, Lakshmi Narayan Ramasubramanian, a post-doctorate from CMU, and Yucong Miao, an undergraduate student of CAMP-Nano, also attended. Dr. Ramasubramanian gave a presentation on his on-going research progress, which was accomplished via the in situ TEM testing facilities in CAMP-Nano. Then Dr. Wang briefly introduced her work on dislocations. The attendees had a heated discussion. Prof. Hsia highly acknowledged Lakshmi’s work, saying that sending him to CAMP-Nano was definitely worthwhile. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Hsia and Prof. Shan discussed about possible collaboration between CMU and Xi’an Jiaotong University. They reached the consensus and agreed to push the collaboration on the university level in the future.
