author:Jiao Liu   time:2018-06-07
The 11th International Workshop on Materials Behavior at the Micro- and Nano-Scale will be held from June 8th to 10th in Xi’an, China. The workshop is hosted by the School of Material Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Center for Advancing Materials Performance from the Nanoscale (CAMP-Nano), Department of International Cooperation & Exchanges of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

This workshop aims to bring together a lineup of well-known scientists, researchers and engineers to review the recent achievements, discuss the current puzzles and share the vision for the future of advancing materials performance from the nanoscale as well as the development of state-of-the-art instruments that enable such explorations, with an emphasis on deformation and radiation mechanism of metals and alloys (refractory metals, light alloys, high entropy alloy etc), nano-mechanics and in situ TEM related topics. The content includes but not limited to experimental, theoretical and computational studies of traditional metals and alloys etc.

The workshop will be held in 101 Room of Science Building. The 34 invited speakers come from both domestic and overseas universities and research institutions, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California Berkeley, University of California San Diego, University of Queensland, Bordeaux University of Paris, Osaka University, Nanyang Technological University, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, City University of Hong Kong, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Metal, Dalian University of Technology, etc. The scale of workshop can be up to 150 people.

From 14:30 to 18:30, June 7th, participants should register at the lobby of Nanyang Hotel. At 8:00 of June 8th, the workshop will officially get start, and finally end at 16:30 of June 10th. The poster meeting will be held at MSE New Building at 19:00 on June 9th. There will be gold, silver and bronze awards, which will be awarded to the top few students selected by participating experts and scholars. Welcome to attend!
