Congratulations to Prof. Evan Ma,  for being selected as 2015 MRS Fellow (Materials Research Society) out of a huge number of nominations, which is regarded as a significant honor for Prof. Evan Ma and his great contribution to the advancement of metastable alloys, in particular the foundational understanding of atomic-level structure and structure-property relations in metallic glasses, and deformation behavior of nanostructured metals and alloys. The MRS Fellows will be recognized on a special event at the 2015 MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco which will be held on April 6-10, 2015.

Founded in 1973, MRS now consists of over 16,000 members from the United States—as well as nearly 80 other countries. The interdisciplinary materials science society is different from that of single discipline professional societies because it encourages communication and technical information exchange across the various fields of science affecting materials.MRS sponsors two major annual meetings offering approximately 100 topical symposia. The society recognizes professional and technical excellence, conducts symposium tutorials and encourages technical interaction among college students through University Chapters, and among materials professionals through regional Sections.

The Materials Research Society (MRS) is an organization of materials researchers worldwide that promotes communication for the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research and technology to improve the quality of life. The title of MRS Fellow honors those MRS members who are notable for their distinguished research accomplishments and their outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials research, world-wide. The maximum number of new Fellow appointments each year is limited to 0.2% of the current MRS regular membership. The distinction is thus highly selective.

Prof. Evan Ma is the Professor of The Johns Hopkins University and the Director of CAMP-Nano (Center for Advancing Materials from the Nanoscale), Xi’an Jiaotong University. He was rewarded the Materials Science Research Silver Medal of ASM ( American Society for Metals) in 2004, selected as the ASM fellow in 2009, won the Senior Scientist Prize in the ISMANAM (International Symposium on Metastable, Amorphous and Nanocrystalline Materials),and also selected as the Thomson Reuters “Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science 2002-2012 in June,2014.
Congratulations to Prof. Evan Ma and CAMP-Nano again!
