Dr. Kai Chen, an Associate Professor from CAMP-Nano, was selected in the second batch of the"1000 Talents Program for Young Scholars". 

The "1000 Talents Program for Young Scholars" was started by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee in December 2010, which is the national supreme talents recruitment plan.  It aims at introducing excellent foreign talents, and supports them to become the leaders of some fields of research or technology.  The elected talents are expected to be less than 40 years old and have a high education and excellent research background.

Dr. Kai Chen graduated with a B.S. degree in Physical Chemistry from School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at Peking University in 2005.  He then moved to University of California Los Angeles and obtained a Ph.D. degree in Electronic Materials in 2009.  He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in University of California Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from September 2009 to July 2011 and now became the Director Assistant of CAMP-Nano and an Associate Professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering.  His research mainly focuses on the structure and properties of the materials in nanoscale by in situ synchrotron radiation micro diffraction and in situ transmission electron microscopy.
