This furnace utilises molybdenum disilicide heating elements, arranged vertically around a separate ceramic worktube to ensure excellent thermal uniformity. It can be adapted to allow a non-oxidising atmosphere or vacuum, by fitting a longer length worktube and end seals. It can be used in materials research include testing of novel materials under strict temperature and varying atmosphere conditions and in general industry include sintering alumina, disintegration, smelt trials and analysis of cement samples. It also can be used in the semi-conductor industry include annealing silicon, silicon carbide & nitride samples and solid state synthesis.
