Airborne particles with size smaller than 10 micrometers (PM10) or 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5) are the prime criminal for the haze weather in China. The rising level of particulate pollution in China also attracts worldwide concern due to the long-range transport capability of pollutants to the downwind regions. Based on the unique morphologies, chemical compositions and structures of airborne particles, we intend to built a "finger print" database of haze particles, this system will guide the government to identify the pollution sources and make right policies to control the heavy particulate pollution. In addition, we also try to develop some equipments to relief the adverse effects of haze weather to human, such as, PM10/PM2.5 filter systems etc.
