Opening of the 12th International Symposium on the Properties of Micro- scale and Nano-scale Materials
On August 14, 2019, the 12th International Symposium on Materials Performance at Microscale and Nanoscale was officially opened at the Science Museum 101 of Xi'an Jiaotong University. At the same time, the history of the International Symposium on the Properties of Micro-nano Materials was reviewed.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Ding Xiangdong, Vice President of the Institute of Materials, conferred the honorary title of Professor Upadrasta Ramamurty, a famous material scientist, academician of Indian Academy of Sciences and academician of Indian Academy of Engineering.

Subsequently, Professor Ma Evan vividly introduced that high-entropy alloys have many kinds of (local) chemical arrangements in the form of ten questions. Professor Sha Gang introduced a new design concept of high-entropy alloys: super-high-entropy alloys were developed by using different strengthening mechanisms.
Speech by Professor Sha Gang
On the first day of the conference report, a total of 12 invited speakers from home and abroad made their respective reports. Its rigorous design, careful and bold verification and rigorous analysis have greatly benefited the audience on the spot. From time to time, it throws out wonderful questions and has a heated discussion with teachers and students.
In the next two days, there will still be 29 famous scholars presenting excellent reports and providing academic feasts. The conference was sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Metal Material Strength of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the Center for Microscale and Nanoscale Materials Behavior Research (CAMP-Nano) of the College of Materials Science and Engineering. Adhering to the excellent tradition of the past, the conference aims to bring together well-known scientists, researchers and engineers in this field at home and abroad, review the latest development results in this field, discuss the difficulties and confusions existing at present, share the development prospects of nano-material properties, and discuss the performance analysis and testing equipment of materials, including nanomechanics and in-situ penetration. The development of mirror and focused ion beam technology. The conference will include but not be limited to experimental and theoretical research on traditional materials, biomaterials, energy and battery-related materials.
