On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to invite you to attend the fifth workshop that is holding in China, a series started in Beijing in 2008. The title of the 2012 workshop is "Workshop on In Situ Electron Microscopy in Advanced Materials Research ". Details of the workshop are summarized below:
Workshop focus
The 2012 Workshop on In Situ Electron Microscopy in Advanced Materials Research aims at providing a forum for scientists and students to share results and experiences of real-time in situ TEM study of materials under influences of various physical external fields. The emerging hybrid in situ TEM technologies enable establishment of direct relationships between structural evolution and materials properties in a scale range from sub-micrometer to nanometer. Another goal of this workshop is to foster in situ TEM research community in China and to fertilize wide range of scientific and instrumental collaborations.
Program Summary
A reception banquet sponsored by HHT will be held at the conference hotel from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on June 11 (Monday), 2012. The grand opening ceremony for XJTU-HHT Research and Development Center (XHRDC) will start from 9:00am, June 12, 2012. All those who intend to attend the workshop are invited to attend this grand opening ceremony.
The workshop program will begin at 2:00pm, June 12, 2012, then proceeds to full day seminars followed by a poster session at hotel hall on June 13 and 14, 2012, and concludes with a final day seminar on June 15 (Friday). The opening reception, lunch and dinner on June 12 and during the workshop are included in the workshop registration fee. This workshop will provide wonderful opportunity to communicate with a strong lineup of internationally recognized invited speakers, to network and to talk one-on-one with researchers about their work.
Poster Prize
All workshop participants are encouraged to bring a poster. Posters do not have to strictly follow the workshop focus but should be on electron microscopy and its applications that would of interest to the workshop participants. Awards will be granted to the top 3 posters judged by the advisory committee and the organizers before the closing remark of the workshop.
