On June 10th, the seminar on development and planning of magnesium industry in Shaanxi was held at New Materials Building. The event was initiated by Prof. Shan Zhiwei and hosted by Shaanxi Magnesium-based New Materials Engineering Center. Dozens of experts in magnesium-related fields from Shaanxi Province were invited to attend this seminar, including Prof. Yu Zhentao from Northwest Institute for Non-ferrous Metal Research, Prof. Wang Kuaishe from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Prof. Wang Xiaogang from Xi’an University of Science and Technology, Prof. Li Jianping from Xi’an Technological University, Prof. Han Yong, Dr. Li Bo and Prof. Bao Chonggao from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Prof. Ge Yanfeng from Xi’an University of Technology and Mr. Zhen Zisheng from Magontec Xi’an Corporation.
Prof. Shan Zhiwei gave opening remarks at the beginning of the seminar, in which he welcomed the arrival of all invitees and stated the purpose of this seminar. Then the attendees shared the progress on their researches and expressed their thoughts on development of magnesium industry of Shaanxi Province. Next, it came to discussion session, all the attendees actively participated in the exchange with others and gave their opinions on the issue. Through discussion, the attendees came to an agreement on establishment of an union to jointly promote the development of magnesium industry in Shaanxi Province and looked forward to further cooperation in the field.
