Two campers, Prof. Zhiwei Shan and Ph.D candidate Huanhuan Lu attended the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Nano-Mechanical Interfaces, held on July 30 – Aug 4, 2017 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which is 3rd GRC on Nanomechanical Interfaces and focus on the multidisciplinary nature of mechanics of interfaces: from bio- to nano- to chemo- and opto-. Prof. Shan was invited as a discussion leader on the topic of “Mechanical Properties of Individual Nano Structures: Nano-Ribbons, Thin Films, and Nano-Pillars” and also gave a talk titled “Effects of hydrogen on the integration of metal/oxide interface”.

"GRCs are different from other scientific conferences because they contain one high caliber presentation after another, complemented by robust discussions of important scientific topics in our field, day after day. It’s truly a unique experience." - David E. Watson, Eli Lilly and Company. For more information about this conference, please click the website, http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?id=15891.
